Biografía

El Dr. Pablo Artal es el cofundador y director general de Voptica. Es doctor en Física y profesor de Óptica en la Universidad de Murcia desde 1994.

El Dr. Artal ha recibido varios premios de prestigio, como la medalla Edwin H Land y la ERC advanced grant en 2013, en reconocimiento a sus contribuciones científicas en el avance del diagnóstico y correcciones alternativas en óptica visual.

El Premio Rey Jaime I 2015 de investigación aplicada ha sido el reconocimiento más reciente en su carrera.

Economista con experiencia y especializada en finanzas, Rosa ha trabajado anteriormente como auditora para Deloitte y ha coordinado los departamentos financieros de varias empresas industriales de renombre.

Lucia Hervella es optometrista y especialista clínica. Está cursando un doctorado en Ciencias de la Visión, siendo la óptica adaptativa su campo de investigación.

Françoise Ganet comes with nearly 30 years of extensive experience in pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical, and medical device industries in senior executive positions. Amongst them, 23 years fully dedicated to the ophthalmic space at Alcon.

Her leadership and operating expertise in opening, establishing, and managing over 25 markets in the EU, Central and Eastern Europe, and Russia, will help guide our company in its important work ahead.

Biografía

El Dr. Pedro M. Prieto colabora con Voptica en los usos y aplicaciones de la Óptica Adaptativa.

Es doctor en Física y profesor de Óptica y Optometría en la Universidad de Murcia.

Es miembro de LOUM desde hace más de 20 años, trabajando en óptica adaptativa visual, concretamente en el diseño de algoritmos y control de software, entre otros aspectos teóricos.

Biografía

Consuelo es graduada en Óptica y Optometría por la Universidad de Murcia. Tiene un Máster interuniversitario en Investigación en Ciencias de la Visión.

Su proyecto de investigación del master se basó en el desarrollo de un instrumento para la medición del punto acromático y el efecto Stiles-Crawford.

En la actualidad, investiga nuevos campos de la visión con aplicación directa en la clínica.

Biografía

Santiago se graduó en Física por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, y continuó con un máster en Física Aplicada por TU Delft.

Su tesis de máster investigaba la influencia de una cavidad óptica en un esquema de comunicación cuántica basado en centros Nitrógeno-Vacancia.

Actualmente es estudiante de doctorado en colaboración con Voptica, donde está mejorando el simulador Visual Adaptive Optics a una versión binocular con funcionalidad mejorada.

Harilaos Ginis is an optical scientist with over 25 years of experience in optics for ophthalmology and vision science. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics related to biomedical technology from the University of Crete.

Current Positions:
– Senior Optical Engineer at VOPTICA SL
– Senior Scientist and Co-founder of diestia (an optical device design start-up for ophthalmology applications)

Previous Positions:
– Head of Research at Athens Eye Hospital (2016-2022)
– Head of Technical Research at InfiniteVision Optics, France (2015-2019)
– Regulatory Affairs Manager at EYEPCR B.V., Netherlands

Past Research Focus:
– Optical metrology in the human eye
– Intraocular lenses and implants
– Ultrafast lasers in ophthalmology, including corneal cross-linking

Prior to Emmetropes Joe was Managing Director of Esteve Pharma and Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Sales at Astra Zeneca in Spain. His roots in Ophthalmology trace back to 10 years at Alcon, where he was Director of Alcon Surgical Spain.

El Dr. Eloy Villegas colabora con Voptica en el desarrollo de aplicaciones clínicas del simulador VAO.

Es doctor en Física de la Visión y profesor de Óptica y Optometría en la Universidad de Murcia.

Tiene una larga experiencia en proyectos experimentales y clínicos sobre óptica visual, especialmente en los campos de las lentes progresivas, las lentes intraoculares y la cirugía refractiva.

Dr. Pablo Artal is the co-founder and CEO of Voptica. He holds a PhD in Physics and he has been a Professor of Optics at the University of Murcia since 1994.

Dr. Artal has received several prestigious awards, such as Edwin H Land medal and ERC advanced grant in 2013, in recognition for his scientific contributions to the advancement of diagnostic and correction alternatives in visual optics.

The 2015 Rey Jaime I Award for applied research has been the most recent recognition in his career.

Lucia Hervella is an optometrist and a clinical specialist. She is pursuing a PhD in Vision Science, with adaptive optics as her research field.

Luis is specialized in quality management systems and regulatory purposes in the field of ophthalmic devices. He has also been involved in in key marketing activities within the medical device industry.

He has previously worked as a quality & regulatory assistant and after as a marketing technician for Visiometrics, a reknown ophthalmic manufacturer, based in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Pedro M. Prieto collaborates with Voptica on the uses and applications of Adaptive Optics.

He holds a PhD in Physics and a professorship in Optics and Optometry at the University of Murcia.

He has been a member of LOUM for more than 20 years, working on visual adaptive optics, specifically in algorithm design and software control, among other theoretical aspects.

Biography

Consuelo graduated in Optics and Optometry at Murcia University. She has an inter-university Master on Researching in Science of Vision.

Her master research project was based in the development of an instrument for the measurement of the achromatic point and the Stiles-Crawford effect.

At present, she researches new fields of vision with direct application in the clinics.

Santiago Sager

Biography

Santiago graduated in physics by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and continued with a Master’s degree in Applied Physics by TU Delft.

His Master thesis studied the influence of an optical cavity in a Nitrogen-Vacancy center based quantum communication scheme.

He is currently a PhD student in collaboration with Voptica, where he is improving the Visual Adaptive Optics simulator to a binocular version with improved functionality.

Dr. Eloy Villegas collaborates with Voptica in the development of clinical applications of VAO simulator.

He holds a PhD in the Physics of Vision and he is a professor of Optics and Optometry at the University of Murcia.

He has long-term experience in experimental and clinical projects on visual optics, especially in the fields of progressive lenses, intraocular lenses and refractive surgery.
