Dr. María Barrera
Maria got her Telecommunications Engineering Master at the University of Granada. Afterwards, founded by the Spanish “La Caixa” scholarship she graduated on an European Erasmus Mundus Master program on Optics and Photonics Engineering. In this frame, she wrote her master thesis on Adaptive Optics for Astronomy applications at the Autonomous University of Mexico.
Right after she moved back to Germany and completed her PhD thesis at the University of Cologne as Marie S. Curie Early Stage Researcher. María held a Post-Doctoral position as coordinator of international research observatories at the prestigious Forschunszentrum Jülich, in Jülich (Germany). Then she headed to Spain to work as Optical Engineer at the company Voptica, in Murcia.
